OME Server
Overview of the original OME server
The original OME server is an application written in Perl running under Apache. It is accessed using a Web User Interface, via a Java API, or using a plugin for ImageJ. A single server can support an entire laboratory or department. With the OME Server you can manage and analyse both images and image acquisition meta-data. There is also the ability to classify and categorise images to aid organisation.
The server was designed to support automated image analysis and supports chaining of analysis steps. Using the OME common data-model as the internal representation of the images means that the server can support images in a wide range of file formats. This model is also extendable allowing custom data to be stored in the server. It supports multiple users and provides appropriate security for private research and collaboration.
