OME-XML Major Version Release
3 November 2008 - An update to the OME Data Model
We are pleased to announce a major update to the OME-XML schema files. These files provide the authoritative description of the OME Data Model.

Key changes made with this release include:
- A major relaxing of the model to allow the capture of incomplete metadata in proprietary files.
- An major re-working of the Region Of Interest model.
- The new Structured Annotation model.
- Support for LED light sources.
- Fixes to the way MicrobeamManipulation links to the rest of the model to support multiple operations.
