Notes
Accepting minutes from last meeting
- Douglas sent notes at EMBO, need to collect them.
Welcome Mark Carroll
Sprint Status
- Will: trouble with branches
- J-M: Initial plan: 3 weeks of coding 1 week of testing but has moved to ongoing testing.
- 209 Bugs (129 in current milestone) - Need to tackle some of these soon, to get below 100
- Propose to spend the first week of this sprint on bugs (starting today)
Multiple development branch feedback (workflow, conflicts, suggestions...)
- Will: branch merged into dev_4_4 then develop. Not easy to see which PR is open against what. Any way to make easier than manual rebasing?
- Chris: e.g. changes made by Blazej only on dev_4_4. Improve naming conventions?
- Will: issues page helps but is not sufficient. Does not tell you if branch is on the other branch.
- Chris: other than merge base strategy which has been decided not to use, use the merge commits instead.
- Will: burden of double reviewing.
- J-M/Chris: will be more sensible when branches start diverging. Even correctly rebased PRs can lose functionalities.
Glencoe Update
- Stick
- Software front: JCB redesign (Carlos & Liza).
- Andreas/Chris: discussion on client infrastructure with J-M. Some elements could be ported back to open-Source, e.g. file system monitoring on Java 7. Andreas will open PR into develop this week or next week. Will be useful for e.g. web regarding import.
Any other business (<5 mins )
- ROI meeting mid-November. Discussion on ROI next Thursday w/ Roger, Sebastien, J-M.
