Notes
Arising (14:00-14:19)
-
Mark Woodbridge & ND2: Brian contacted. No response yet.
- Chris: Related to issue on forum. Importing massive XML.
- Do we want to release a new importer with bioformats?
- ~3 things to fix.
- @Chris sends email to nitpick about patch release
-
Metadata harvesting
- Ola: sent draft, but Carlos unhappy with extlib
- Carlos: things that can bite people
- Ola: one page for
- @Ola, Josh, and Carlos will discuss
-
Jason hasn't sent agilo letter, but registration done (we think)
- Chris working on getting certificates
-
Process-summary
- Anyone look at it?
- No, but that should be ok.
- Linked from last weeks minutes
- ASCB email went out
- About pages ticket has been updated.
-
Storage
- use cases on the RoiStorage page
- forum for getting feedback, everyone add notes concurrently
- trac page is authoritative (links to tickets)
-
Estimates/work plan updates
- Andrew: some of my items have tickets but not on roadmap
- Zuerich: can't go
-
Mark Woodbridge & ND2: Brian contacted. No response yet.
Sprint (14:20-
- Were hoping to use agilo, but that will have to wait
-
Practices (go through each of the workplan pages)
- What are the things that are good to do?
- Example, quite verbose.
- Useful?
- Easier with a tool?
- Also, https://skyking.microscopy.wisc.edu/trac/java/wiki/BioFormatsCleanup
- Less detail, but similar.
- Ola: more tickets per commit?
- Ola: percent remaining
- Ola: with multiple tracs, have to handle tickets carefully
-
Andrew: if there's a ticket not linked off the roadmap (not 4.2), where do estimates go?
- Adding extra row to TaskAllocations?
- If you're doing the work, it's 4.2 and should be put on the roadmap (ie: Doesn't matter if something is 'linked' to code, if its happening 'before' a release, it should be included in that release cycle on the trac).
-
Estimates
- Josh: largely close, but bugs were 2.5 ideal days
- Brian: How do your re-organize when bugs arise?
- Chris: workplan is not some official plan
- Andrew: initial estimates
- Jean-Marie: "ideal estimates"
- Conclusion: all look at one of the active pages for agreement on how we do things
-
Graffle (Have to stop last minute updates)
- Donald will need to change (Done last minute)
- EM for Will. Talking tomorrow.
-
Permissions: lot of good feedback (tickets from Chris)
- 2nd phase demo on Monday
-
FS: few things. should be able to do some advanced things at the end of this iteration.
- get import candidates in addition to thumbnails
- download in 2 weeks time
- @JM, Colin: Get ready to demo the new FS features for the end of this upcoming iteration.
-
chgrp v. scripting
- Carlos: chgrp needed right away. but needed for JCB upgrade
- Will: big images is not such a blocker (import is probably problematic)
-
server-side history: no longer blocked. Brian has been working on other bugs in the meantime
- @Brian demos server-side history end of this iteration
-
General position/feeling
- bf: on track (~2 days behind but should be able to make that up)
- perms: a bit behind on testing
- Josh: roadmap page is very full
- @Has roistorage been put on TaskAllocation? No yet
-
Chris: plan for BF is to begin merge into trunk during this iteration (has been isolated) for demo.
- FS may be a good place to test the branch
-
roi storage
- should know how well we can get SPW measurements into mongodb
- measuring? how quickly can import and retrieve
- @Everyone please check out the graffle after Jean-Marie upgrades
email/forum
- Caitlin: need to get back to her
- Forums: all topics are waiting on logs, samples, etc.
AOCB
-
Andrew added new FAQ entries
- Jason: a reasonable set of the questions from the last year? Yes.
- Concerted effort? +1
- Chris: lacking on examples of doing simple things
- Chris: we have a good number of code based samples we have written over the years. Would be nice if we have these links gathered somewhere?
-
Jason: schedule morning/long afternoon post-permissions testing
- Then send email to the lists saything that we've updated them
-
Jason/observation
- The scheduling of demos, talking about functionality seems to be going well
- Try to get things done before the meeting
-
For experimental functionality (e.g. storage), make sure there are regular updates
- WorkPlan pages: hard to see what's new
- How can someone look at, say RoiStorage, see what happens
- Have to find a way to communicate this: emails/forums/demos/...(something else?). Just a way to say 'this is where I am now'
-
@Examine a way to put intermediate stages on the workplan
- New section representing the timeline
- "Announcements" a la Twitter
- Donald: have 3 storage pages
- Josh: Using the "diff" links
-
Presentations
- @Jason next week
-
Who's next?
- CB and JM discuss a FS presentation
- Perhaps a BF one
-
VMWare upgrade
- Come in next couple of weeks. No squig, etc. for 1 to 1.5 days
-
Microphones
- Little has been inaudible this time
- They pick up more noise. (Whispering)
-
Andrew added new FAQ entries

- Chris: Send email to nitpick about patch release
- Andrew: Do the items task needed from last week's minutes

- Everyone: keep up to date on the feedback to forums for ROI changes.
- Everyone: review https://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/omero/wiki/WorkPlan/Permissions. This is a good example of how to link tickets/revisions tp work plan pages.
- JM, Colin: Get ready to demo the new FS features for the end of this upcoming iteration.
- Chris: enable the block importing from bio-formats so Will can import his large EM images.
