Process emails
- everyone ok?
-
default communication should be public
- lots of people are keeping track (even if not speaking up)
- should decision making process be private?
- not polluting space
- perhaps not changing right away, but need better use of it
- ome-devel gets emails at proposal-level
- many questions are happening in isolation
- using nitpick better
- but we would also like to encourage people to contribute code (ome-devel)
- re-evaluate the community stuff after release, but try to use nitpick more

documentation?
-
third iteration

-
first iteration
Bioformats
- goal: attaching from FS
- currently have several hacks to make things work
- @Chris tries to refactor them and send those to Melissa
- need to have RAStream more extensible
Universal protocol solution
- meeting this coming monday or tuesday
- @will will send emails to everyone
- things are going well
OME-TIFF
- Question from MediaCybernetics
- Need sample OME-TIFF files (more complex ones)
- Which ones?
- data/ome-tiff/curtis ?
- Yes, but files might not be validating.
- @Curtis will take a look and see why not.
- Wanted samples with multi-part files
- We have them. (Z/4D)
- Was the problem still the web validator not working with multi-file TIFFs?
- ome-tiff/tubHis.... (time2 is the most complexed)
-
Possibility of creating a simple download that can produce OME-TIFF
- Some issues with namespaces to make the data validate.
- bfconvert to produce OME-TIFF that validates.
- Will Andrew's working on that cause any problems?
- e.g. CustomAttributes --> CA:CustomAttributes
- Curtis: Don't know of any code that would break.
- But they should happen regardless
- Feedback is very valued. (Might be tricky to fix)
1Bit pixel type
- Good for ROIs
- There are various types: Pixels, ExtendedPixelTypes (more than UINT8)
- What's the support in TIFF look like? Unsure. Probably yes. Other formats can.
- BMP, PNG, TIFF == yes.
- Using crazy pixel types in bioformats
- Flag to round up to bits?
- Need to write up a proposal. Lots of implications.
- @Curtis forwards his response to the bioformats list to ome-users
