OME-XML Major Version Release
21 October 2009 - An update to the OME Data Model
The Open Microscopy Environment are pleased to announce a major update to the OME-XML schema files. These files provide the authoritative description of the OME Data Model.
This is a major (breaking) version release that is NOT backwardly compatible with files created for the September 2008 release.
As this is a major release it makes use of a new namespace:

- Some objects supporting the original OME server have been removed.
- Structured Annotation links have been reworked and reversed.
- ROI have their own namespace, schema file ROI.xsd, and are now top level objects.
- Fixes to the way MicrobeamManipulation links to the rest of the model to support multiple operations.
