    1. Hiring report (Jason) - 14:31 UK

      • various positions funded by Wellcome, various BBSRC, and EU (e.g. MULTIMOT, CORBEL, Euro Bio-Imaging)
      • David Gault probably joining us, working on metadata, ROIs, etc.
      • Simone Leo probably to return
      • still working to fill DevOps role, high priority
    2. Core (incl. CI & QA) - 14:41 UK

      1. 5.1.3/5.1.4 planning (Josh)
        • Contingencies for supporting Java 8u51 and still delivering 5.1.3
          • Java issue workaround/fix seems to work, but unexpectedly lost some days of development
        • Bio-Formats 5.1.3 released
        • OMERO m2 (permissions) testing probably tomorrow
        • m3 early next week, hoping for RC1 later next week
        • still to decide about 5.0
      2. Decoupling (Sebastien B)
        • Dominik’s work hoped to be in next week
          • fixing connection problem
        • next are QA, registry, stats, etc.
        • Jason: should soon write e-mail or blog entry
      3. H11S Metadata (see IDR below)
    3. Glencoe Update (Chris) - 14:49 UK

      • critical to properly handle OME security (act on vulnerabilities, distribute fixes, etc.), especially if expecting others to run OMERO at their institutions
        • on Glencoe side been working on these issues, especially mindful of customers still on 5.0, further work over coming weeks
        • need to be good at disseminating information after release that fixes vulnerability making it much clearer that there is a security issue
    4. Repositories - 15:00 UK

      1. Virtual Microscope/teaching
        • nothing
      2. IDR Project - discussions last week about
        1. user interface - initial ideas about user entry points for exploring data
        2. ontology annotations - annotating study information and phenotypes and how ontologies could be used in querying the IDR
          • Jason: EBI services appear to be able to provide various necessary parts
        3. integration with the EBI's BioStudies database
        4. if analysis of datasets could be done on the EBI's Embassy cloud
          • Jason: initial indications look like it can be used, no obvious blockers yet
          • Josh M: will take some months’ work yet before we deploy successfully within EBI
        5. Simon: looking at storing ontologies in OMERO’s PostgreSQL database before resorting to a separate graph database
    5. FLIMfit/OPT (Ian) - 15:06 UK

      • 5.1.3 brought useful features, checking everything still builds, preparing for release after OMERO 5.1.3 release
    6. Bio-Formats large file sets (Sebastien B) - 15:07 UK

      • Roger: SourceForge is probably back now, but they had a massive disk failure last week; may well be future problems given their current lack of resources
      • Josh M: drop use of SourceForge?
        • Roger: yes, use UK mirror
        • Josh M: some testing to do re. resolving to local mirrors and performance for those on US West Coast
    • Simon: are there tweetdeck accounts?
      • Josh M: yes
