  2. Project Status (15 minutes max)

    • Mainline: Project scheduling for the rest of 2014 - revised date for Model changes etc. (15 min) (Josh) - 14:30 UK

      • 5.1.0-m1 demo’d last week, went well
        • no public release, but artifacts will be generated
      • 5.1.0-m2: Oct 31
        • open question about how schema changes are demonstrated in client UIs
        • for demo, can limit which properties have units, e.g., pixel size
      • 5.1.0-m3: Dec 15
      • 5.1.0 release candidates over January 2015
      • on average, starting from now, the team resolves four tickets per working day to be ready by Feb 1
        • some will have to be pushed
      • Jason: however, if work must slip, prefer to reduce features than postpone delivery
      • Petr: testing card on QA board is still alive?
        • Jean-Marie: yes, we will keep that updated
    • Glencoe Update (5 minutes) (Chris) - 14:39 UK

      • extending download plug-in for OMERO 5
        • Will: duplicating some work for web? (PR #3042)
        • Chris: have been aware of it, but need more / different features; in due course some of the Python code could be merged together
        • Chris: Glencoe work has been CLI, in contrast to Will’s web work
      • Unicode handling fixes for movie infrastructure, pull requests coming
      • PerkinElmer / Columbus opensource-side QA messages can be closed, especially if old versions, will be handled by Glencoe / PerkinElmer support
        • new version coming, Columbus 2.5, includes up-to-date OMERO 4
    • Consortium Update (5 minutes) - 14:46 UK

      • Douglas: good meetings last week, PR work further along
      • Yuriy: code improvement, bug-fixing
      • Curtis: circulated update by e-mail
      • Simone: discussed HDFS issues, may be accessible to both client and server; would be good to obtain URI for filesystem paths; described further on Trello
        • path.py PR submitted, but Python work deprioritized
        • continued work on pydoop
      • Simon: further work on OMERO.features
  3. Update on Grants (5 mins) (Jason) - 14:52 UK

    • total of five grants submitted
    • reviews on squig; reasonable, largely positive
    • interview at the end of this month
  4. November Dev Mtg (week of 17th?) (5 mins) (Jason) - 14:53 UK

    • there has been demand for time with OME team, and there is room in CTIR
    • plan to invite external developers to work with us here on projects
      • OME consortium members welcome
      • focus is interesting development rather than, say, installation problems
    • would welcome feedback soon
    • Google Doc coming soon
    • Andrew: which of their costs could we cover?
      • Jason: probably catering, accommodation, possibly travel, still to be determined
  5. Team Config and Dynamics (10 min) (Jason) - 14:59 UK

    • natural tendency to hope others can take load of what needs to be done
    • need to share around more work from sysadmin and Bio-Formats, current personnel are overloaded
      • others will need to contribute
      • Douglas: some of what needs to be done for sysadmin work is difficult to package neatly for external assistance
        • Andrew: also, what of permissions?
        • Jason: such issues can probably be discussed and addressed
  6. AOB (5 mins max - technical discussions should be highlighted to relevant people and rescheduled) - 15:05 UK

    • Deprecation of OMERO.editor for 5.1?
      • not releasing OMERO.editor zips, nor OpenGL Insight
      • very few users using standalone, and all on version 3.0
        • also will not be able to start it from Insight
      • code can be recovered from version control
      • Jason: nice application but hard to get funding for
      • Jason: will announce intentions to list, await feedback
    • Desk mobility
      • Dominik thinking of moving
      • can displace Josh, Melissa, etc. if need be
