  2. OMERO documentation: Trac files cleanup - 14:39

    • Sebastien: Trac folder under ome-docs, what do we do with the files?
      • Sebastien: Please comment if you have an opinion. Data Model files?
      • Gus: Has various gdocs to organise
      • Will: Scott Loynton was using them to expose stuff external
      • Sebastien: Online protocols tutorials?
      • Will: Something for the editor, pointed 1 person to over the years

    • Topics
      • Discussion about recent examples of PRs needing to have docs in sync.
      • Also what else to look for while reviewing PRs.
    • OMERO.movies on Windows
    • Docs & submodules
      • Will: would need help with submodules
        • Andrew: submodules typically cause problems.
      • Sebastien: dual branches, linked but separate?
      • Roger: good initially. Still useful?
      • Helen: Leave it until Data model stuff etc.
      • Chris: ok to move into main repository IF size stays reasonable.
      • Roger: scope for generating binary content in build?
      • Andrew: binary content in history? Josh: can delete if necessary.
      • Things to solve before changing anything with submodules:
        • Binary generation (screenshots & artwork in spec)
        • Location for OME-XML
    • Ticketing docs? 15:04 UK
    • Screenshots/movies 15:09 UK
      • Will: avoid conflicts by waiting until more is merged
      • Chris: if we knew the core screenshots, and could capture automatically...
      • Gus: plus annotated images...
      • Simon: add doc ticket in such cases? Chris: ticket volume.
      • Chris: add “Doc” state for tickets?
      • Blazej: wouldn’t close the ticket until docs are done.
      • Mark: include “tested”? Sure.
      • Chris: requires discipline to keep things in sync. (cf. ticket volume)
    • OMERO.movies on Windows - 15:18 UK
      • Blazej: page mentions OMERO.movies doesn’t work on windows. Does it work or not?
      • Chris: If you can’t get it to work in 5 min then we say it doesn’t work
      • Blazej: Instructions are sparse, download something, not concise enough.
      • Josh: recommendation: revert the commit and leave windows support off. Agreed!

    • Chris: Josh & I working with FS.
      • Andreas in process of moving to Germany. In place tomorrow.
      • Carlos & Liza JCB beta display viewer.
    • Andrew: Sharing Files with Glencoe. Liza Artwork, ome dropbox no use, liza can’t write to squig.
    • Josh: WebDAV not working? Liza could mount that.

    • Simon: Christmas Lunch - 12 Dec 13:30 Marco Polo near Holiday Inn, bring £10 on the day for full payment.
      • Zanky swap, like secret santa but more complicated. Optional £5 gift.
    • Andrew: Sending business cards tomorrow, let me know if people need them.
    • Andrew: Leaflets same again? Colin?
    • Colin: Do we want a cut down poster saying what we actually do? Free software? Ideas welcome.
