  1. Accepting minutes from last meeting

  2. Glencoe Update - 14:36 UK

    • Chris: Background work going on with the API (Carlos & Chris). Bulk annotations work. Bring Will in when we have things panned out.
  3. Satellite Update (every month)

    • Jason: Job ad for Project Admin has gone through. Cover admin aspects, plan meetings, standup docs ready etc. Plan dev meetings, ASCB.
    • Jason: Satellite presentation in next few weeks, FLIM processing? Sardinia?
  4. Australia visit [Jason] - 14:50 UK

    • Jason: eResearch.
    • Australia will make research cloud available at the beginning of 2013 for whole Australia (national strategy), 2CPU 8GB storage starting point.
    • Series of funded projects incl. Monash & Griffith projects with OMERO. Dropbox pulling data from microscopes + annotation and analysis. Publication at the national level - Griffith OMERO Catalogue - WebClient
    • No more funding until 2014.
    • How do we retain usage?
    • Sebastien: Did they switch to other software or did they not use anything?
    • Jason: 2nd option, MyTardis: file manager / storage
    • Jason: 2 things that accelerated things, scaled analysis, interest in tracking (sebastien). Automatic tagging (douglas).
    • Jason: Image slides, not cells. 8 sections of mouse brain and imaged. Queensland brain institute, ims hdf file, 8gb of data in workstation. Dev wrote python, read data and dump as ome-tiff and built tools on top of that. Good informatics team. Lots of hardware! Potential FS testing site. Neuroscience application, can it be rolled in to 4.5 list?
    • Josh: email from Jake Carroll asking for FS testing. Next month and pass it off to them. Preview testing phase.
    • Jason: approaching one of those events where our understanding of data is leap-frogged (faster cameras, slides. Previously 3 hours, newer one: 15 mins)
    • Jason: New slide stack design.
      • “Seen you before, but those slides are great”
      • Makes Jason look like a sales guy! “If I hadn’t seen the science talk I’d have thought you were a sales guy”
    • Barrier: 150 TB of data has to go in. (i.e. all our datas)
    • Jason: Just put the good stuff in.
    • Will: MyTardis integration. Jason good things to bring up/discuss for future direction.
    • Jason: running OMERO on their cloud. Possibility of setting an OMERO demo server for Australia/South Pacific?

    • FigureJ [Josh]
      • New plugin for ImageJ @ Will, uses bioformats (loci) plugin to open images and layout in figure format, overlay, scalebars. More interactive, same work flow, getting stuff ready for publication. Doubt its coming from OMERO, IJ1 / IJ2 upgrade issue.
      • Will: Jean-Marie and I looked at it.
