Agenda - 2:30pm Start

  1. Accepting minutes from last meeting

    • All: Okay
  2. Code & Testing & Release Updates

    • Total bugs: 177 (6 blocker, 35 critical, 56 major, 80 minor)

      • Jean-Marie: SQL bugs look out, not so many we can delete them, no point

      • Chris: Testers effected may have to redo things

      • Roger: ROI testing was difficult

      • Chris: Pings http500s, lots of logouts

      • Will/Ola: Issue for a while

      • Jean-Marie: Another round of permission testing, clean the DB and omero folder so we make sure we don’t have anything that can create bugs. Run through testing on Thursday to get stuff set up properly. Setting up the environment, 2 groups.

      • Colin: updated version of script creates groups with meaning ful names within the groups

      • Colin: waiting on fixes for python tests so can carry on as User-2

      • Colin: have an hour where everyone has it imported

      • Chris: Use Glencoe office

      • Emma: Getting it set up all in one room

      • Scott: Given feedback will go in to in detail on Thursday, speaking to scientists and PIs ability for a group owner to delete a scientists data is a risky idea to do without notification system. removing ROIs editing filenames of images etc. considered

        • Chris: relaxing that is not a problem
        • Jean-Marie: editing and deannotating said we wouldn’t touch the server and block it in the client, linking blocked in the client, editing and removing annotation in the client blocked as well. Nothing server side, Carlos can continue, can only delete if you are the owner
        • Jean-Marie: delete will come as a batch, editing image name is disruptive, deleting entire image is okay.
        • Chris: edge cases is huge
        • Scott: ability for the system to do that and providing an alert/notification that a group owner has made a change. Loss of control over their own data
        • Chris: putting the constrint in place in the client, failures on our part are more disruptive
        • Scott: The reaction from a PI changing something over the weekend, if something has changed
        • Gus: lack of notification on changing data.
        • Chris: like that across the whole project, changing both the cleints to increase trust.
        • Jean-Marie: canLink canEdit, hibernate restricts it in some places. creating a link you cant do it once its out of synch with edit. not as simple of turning it off in the server.
        • Chris: PI is owner of the group they have contorl why not turn it off
        • Chris: dangerous to do now
        • Jean-Marie: turned things off in the client only, need to make a decision.
        • Chris: turning off in the server is more authoritive and don’t need to
        • Jean-Marie: still need to test in clients
        • Chris: preventing the group owner form having extended permissions then it’s okay
        • Chris: safer blanket doing it? switch off all admin permissions wihtin a group, you can only see it not change it, if it’s made in server it’s easy to test, to authoritively say
        • Carlos: it needs to be optional otherwise I can’t do work
        • Jean-Marie: need ot check with Josh what is possible in time scale w.r.t hibernate, canLink canEdit are related. Might still need to allow a check in client
        • Ola: if you are group owner can you sudo to do something?
        • Chris: no!
        • Jean-Marie: if we agree to turn it off so they are a general user.
        • Chris: until we have something better
        • Jean-Marie: update the sheet and should be okay with the admin.
        • Ola: expose strategy to change data you must be an admin, group ower, you must sudo?
        • Chris: exposing exactly that, the whole concept of creater and owner are the same is wrong, we need to change that.
        • Jean-Marie: assess with Josh on this issue.
        • Jean-Marie: turn the delete off, we remove functionality for group owner to wipe out stuff that we added in 4.3
        • Chris: Make user base aware,
        • Jean-Marie: no point in Thursday testing if permissions are changing
        • Chris: make sure ROI stuff is working in web
        • Jean-Marie: probably no need for big round of testing due to changes in the backend.
        • Chris: Just don’t consider group owner tests.
        • Jean-Marie: we need to change admin to add permissions for them
      • Emma: Need to push for release before Paris

    • Release Documentation on the website

      • Andrew, snapshot now, moved to legacy and left copy for people to edit, last time we tried otherway round, and then switched. Last time edits happened in the live site
      • Chris: concern having stuf there that isn’t the live site and is dev docs.
      • Will: make us make the mistake
      • Andrew: 3 copies, snapshop of legacy, another snapshop: publicly visible, 3rd was something else: grrr
      • Chris: having dev docs live is dangerous
      • Chris: Something Has Incorrectly been Tampered with list on a Tuesday morning and making people change them back.
      • Andrew: vast number of alias’s up
      • Will: Trac?
      • Jean-Marie: put a note this was ‘required in 4.3’
      • Will: so make it clear in the pages okay before release
  3. Satellite Update

    • Emma: Nothing really.
  4. Glencoe Update (15:00)

    • Chris: Nothing to report.
    • Chirs: Liza, Glencoe cards?
    • Liza: Andrew has OME stuff, waiting on name number thing for Glencoe cards, stick can you address with Wilma
    • Stick: will do.
    • Liza: away on Friday
    • Chris: get it finalised by Thursday
  5. Any other business (<5 mins)

    • Replacement for Google Docs - Banner has appeared say it is being replace by Google Drive
      • Andrew: Do I clcik the button to upgrade?
      • Andrew: Stuff I’ve created there is a sharing issue.
      • Emma: We can work around it.
      • Andrew: Dropbox?
  6. Ola: prioroites on web tickets? * Chris: changed some priorities on some, about half are minor and ~40% are above

    • Jean-Marie: Schema branch, hoping to import some of the HCS data (thursday)
      • Chris: real images on my laptop but can view them
      • Jean-Marie: howe to start that process?
    • Scott: Numbers for thursday testing, seb, scott, gus, colin, roger, blaze, emma (7)
      • Emma: Will discuss on Thursday
  7. Done: 15:17 *
