Agenda - 2:30pm Start
Accepting minutes from last meeting
- Emma: Welcomes Blazej to the group.
Sprint Tickets/bugs
- Total bugs: 133 (12 blocker, 16 critical, 40 major, 65 minor)
-
Permission
- group's owner rights in private/read-only group. Turn off things in client.
- Jean-Marie: what is the owner allowed to do from a usability, group owner can change image link (disruptive) but can do the add value stuff ( add annotation) limitation of the system. Will diverge in server/client to avoid confusion, can modify tag but can’t tag image. Are people okay?
- Chris: not sure it’s a good thing
- Jean-Marie: delete at some phase of lifetime
- Gus: seems strange the way you can alter people’s data in certain circumstances but not in other ways, unsure of best way to approach it.
- Chris: have equal possibility that group owner will be allowed even though server allows it
- Jean-Marie: not having it people are not aware of it.
- Josh: 1. group admin adds data it belongs to the (only issue in private group) only data owner or group owner / sysadmin. What we can do client/server, when a group owner wants to do it, we do it at a user level, we don’t store authorship info for who created the data. 2. we have to add an annotation on annotation.
- Josh: I create data, leave then you have ownership but authorship is maintained
- Chris: disconnect between ownership and authorship
- Will: Simple problem, in private group owner of the the group can change
- Jean-marie: a lot of use cases in monash for marking exam using rating.
- Chris: only private groups across the board (client/server) group owner can do anything to private data
- Jean-Marie: server was full group owner needs to delete data, can not edit, can not delete
- Jason: Could we spend some time gathering them, and schedule all for for something like 4.4.2?
- Jean-marie: client do not allow owner to edit, we accept the disconnection for now and later resync and turn on
- Josh: other option is to give the group-owners the ability to login as the data-owner so that they are clear that ownership==authorship
- Andrew: sell it as an admin feature that owner can remove data but not change it (space saving)
- Gus: don’t deal with admins that often, but the whole metaphor seems complicated/creaky and will need to be tweaked, whole permissions model needs addressing?
- Will: agreed we can’t allow annotation (technically), do we allow deletion / edit?
- Chris: if you’re a sysadmin it’s the same
- Josh/Options:
- no annotate (current)
- no annotate / no edit
-
annotations belong to data-owner
- simply
- annotations to mark authorship
- something else...
- group-owner logs in as user
