Notes regular - 2:30pm Start

  1. Accepting minutes from last meeting

    • DONE
  2. Sprint Bug Report (5 mins)

    • Bugs closed: 22 (1 blocker, 11 major, 10 minor)
    • New bugs: 9 (2 critical, 3 major, 4 minor)
    • Total bugs: 84 (5 blocker, 10 critical, 19 major, 50 minor)
      • Emma: Good as bugs are reduced.
  3. Sprint Status

    • ome-pfelts, Big images (Chris)

    • assumed everything had generated but not based on what Scott said.

      • Scott: looking under his account, there are still 5-6 pyramids waiting to be generated.
      • Web UI changes are on that system, full viewer, group dropdown.
      • Scott: Insight seems okay functionally, noticed freezes on unrendered; will contact Jean-Marie
    • Chgrp (Josh)

      • hard to understand stuff thats hard to fix. Give time to look at it and give feedback, maybe not for 4.4 but we need a direction.
      • Should be okay so far, carlos and J-M have solutions. How do we manage the branches? merge in chgrp branch so that carlos and J-M can collaborate. rebase and tidy up and then propose for merging.
      • Important!! - look at J-Ms work and decide if that is the UI experience we want. If done in insight and then submit a script, we need some multi group in python, also in to BlitzGateway as the scripting is done in python.
      • Note: J-M away on paternity leave soon.
      • Josh: J-Ms work is done on using many sessions, look at omero.group / omero.share
      • Chris: more dangerous having many sessions.
      • Josh: omero.group might have unknown issues.
      • Chris: worried about a number of omero.client objects in client (resource leaks, etc)
      • Scott: can we ask power user outside of Dundee?
        • feedback from carlos re: JCB/ASCB
        • Chris: Harvard Medical School (Jay) screening workflow, publication worklow. Share and annotate data then move it and expose it publically.
        • Chris/Scott: Similar to Monash, will need to dictate workflows.
        • Some sites want group-write along with group-projects, and they will not see us as supporting their workflows.
        • Supported workflows (for now): data imported to wrong group and need to move to another group (local/public) for others to see it.
        • Workaround for group-write: sign in with the same user credentials.
  4. Minigroup Updates (Started 14:49 UK)

    • HIC (Simon)
      • External users now using VM so supporting those, recovery and documentation.
      • Moving Elwood into lead role on HIC. Planning time at HIC one day a week maybe.
      • rebase to web and server code base.
      • Elwood: getting up-to-speed on codebase and finding out what Alison wants. Meeting Friday.
        • Emma: add to OME-Scheduling calendar.
        • Elwood: do not have visibility of calendar.
      • Simon: Try to get more data
      • Emma: What is the issue?
        • Anonymization and changing personnel. Who has got oversight.
      • Emma: plan of a specific day? Not yet.
    • Model (14:54 UK)
      • Andrew: worked through the database with the differences
      • http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/wiki/OmeModel/DatabaseComparison
      • Discussion to be had on tickets.
      • Quite a few cases where we will probably just accept the differences.
      • Emma: Meeting with Jason? That is more for Jean-Marie, Josh, and Chris (not new stuff)
      • Chris: intend to have that done today? Yeah. Tasks in a story? Yeah.
      • Requirement: http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/7836
      • Need to discuss ROIs, 3D, curves, aligning definition of what we do with what we say we do.
    • Web
      • Ola: Finalising django features and cleanup (connections, scripts, templates)
        • New layout for web
      • Will: testing and fixing features on merge green, http://gretzky.openmicroscopy.org.uk/webclient/
      • Ola: next planned changes after next pull request
    • Insight
    • FS
      • Colin: discussion with Chris, J-M, Josh last week
      • fslite cmd-line prototype. Few tickets to allow insight to interact with that method.
      • Off soon for two weeks. Hopefully Jean-Marie can pick it up.
    • Usability

      • Melissa: slidebook file verification. Ticking along
      • Josh: Mark? Curtis: doing well. Cut down on hours.
        • Done with ICS and APNG, one hard and one easy.
        • Few iterations back and forth.
        • Soon will announce for reviewing the API.
    • Documentation (drupal)
      • Emma: anyone testing? Not yet.
      • Chris: let me know if I need to go downstairs.
      • Curtis: also let me know. Learned some theming.
      • Andrew: we have got access, but we do not have admin.
      • Curtis: running one ourselves? Chris: do not have the time to manage it.
      • Emma: not urgent really, just testing.
      • Chris: bottleneck at the moment is our having time to do anything.

    • Note: Modified the minigroup updates list to include bigimages/learning/chgrp

  8. Any other business (<5 mins)

    • openmicroscopy.org Java Applet hell (Chris & others)
      • Chris: need to figure out what is doing it.
      • If you are using any web browser (chrome, …), opens applet on visit.
      • Trying to do internal communication.
      • When logged in, some weirdness between plone and server. Blocks plone weirdness.

      • Josh: suffice to syntactically test our minimal Matlab code.
