2011-09-01 Thursday Meeting

  1. Accepting minutes from last meeting

  2. Matters Arising (<10 mins)

    • Elwood: capture issue with concurrent import / delete - See: #6629

  3. Generating sprint # (45 mins)

    • What New Tasks were added to old sprint
    • What Tasks are left in old sprint
    • Make new sprint
    • Estimates
    • Close old sprint and move other tasks into new sprint

    • What promotion material to take to Imperial?
    • T-shirts, magnets etc..
    • Do we want CD's or flash drives with OMERO on? The cost for flash drives.
      • 1G £5-6 each but would be required to order 50. (Plus a logo/artwork charge and delivery, 15 working day lead time)
    • Demo Accounts - Could requests become QA tickets?

      • Web-Minigroup (See report 9): There are 14 tickets half HCS, some datamamagement, some scripting for me, not sure how many for Will
      • How are we going to handle Will's tickets while he is away? (Not back on the 12th)
      • JMB: We are two weeks from bug fixing stage
      • Ability to view ROI's on the web is a priority at this point
      • Group permissions discussion:
        • Josh: JMB & Josh have tried to err on the side of not giving permissions
        • Have talked to Bernard for feedback, will go from there
      • Josh: Build tests are failing again, will look at it.
        • Matlab job not passing,
        • Java on windows also not passing but minor
        • Have created tickets for other valid fails
      • HIC: Not much happening for release
      • Stylesheet changes: Mainly documentation changes at this point

      • 6166: Waiting for Will to return

      • Testing Phase: All scenarios are ready, first round of tests were in Gretzky.
        • JMB: When are we doing tests against a windows server?
        • Scott: Ideally we can do windows testing with next phase
        • JMB: We need a windows server to run against
        • Chris: #6510 is the last set of bugs from testing, should be done tomorrow (2nd)
        • Chris: Ok then next phase can be on windows. Should be done Tuesday/Wednesday (6th/7th)
        • JMB: Not a lot of time, we should swap and do the rest of our tests tomorrow on windows
        • JMB: Keep in mind next week is Josh's visit. Will be busy
        • JMB: One suggestion was to do a scenario once a month, to catch bugs earlier
      • Copyright: JMB - need to run script to get new header set up for all files
      • JMB: still a few tickets in report 9 without owners, should be set up when Ola reviews

        • Josh: A bit of a loss here, can't really test without VS10.
        • Josh: Scons don't support VS10, no way to build CPP bindings right now I think
        • Josh: May have to get him to install an older version, but not sure that's viable
        • Andrew: Can we test this here internally for him? Chris: We can get VS10
        • Chris: We will have to test this after release perhaps, but not before
        • Chris: We have pre-built DLLS for 4.3.1 he can use if that will work for him
        • Josh: ICE might not even work for VS10. Maybe he should write an ICE test
      • Sindhu Emilda - Re: [ome-users] MasOSMenuHandler.class not found in omero_client.jar - INSTRUCTIONS SENT
        • Andrew: All settled or does he need a followup? Josh: Yes, tell him its a priority after release, sent ticket info

      • Ola: Should probably not add them as QA tickets.. we have 3 people who do this now. Just need to cover holidays
      • Chris: We should let me know on the page that its created by hand, and will take time

Action Items

* Ola: Don't forget to look over the Python API changes from will, to make sure nothing is missing that's needed
* Josh: C++ options - Use 2008 / our DLLs, after release we'll try 2010, build in vs2010, icetest
* Andrew: Reply to Sindhu Emilda email
* Ola add "within a few days" (human in the loop)
