Notes
Accepting minutes from last meeting
- Accepted
Matters Arising (<10 mins)
- Brian: respond to eclipse email, ask for screenshot - Done
- Will: investigate lsm import email (importer vs. insight) - Done #6247
-
Will: Reminder for pyramid performance discussion as per Christopher Wood's email - Still needs adding to agenda for when Chris is back.
- Chris: same or similar problem on forums (mem & web threads)
- Possibly most straight-forward to turn off FS-lite for TIFFs.
- Will: annoying to have to wait for non-big tiffs
- Chris: not possible to turn off on size basis.
- Chris: if we turn off FS-lite for TIFF, then pyramid generation is slow but on fly.
-
Andrew: could we put in a fake file format (small TIFF / big TIFF)?
- Then handle them differently?
- Chris: one way to do it.
- Chris: best way to do it is to have it be configurable, options menu, etc.
-
Will: similar to bug found in script (rois)
- Doesn't work on TIFF of any size, because you can't change your tile size
- Chris: will be changing that in 4.3.2 anyway.
- Ola was also asking for resolution 0 and getting the whole image
- Chris: did that because we didn't have time to test image boundaries, etc.
- Can test and then relax it.
- Will: Ticket ldap user changing groups as per forum message - Done #6248
-
Will: Reply to micro-array email - Done Tissue microarray - Want "images in grid" - forum and #6281
- Will: Nothing in SPW says anything about plate dimension? No.
- Josh: Most likley they want a BF reader that generates a plate layout. Maybe we should suggest this to them.
- Will: Suggested they go into insight and arrange colums ito shows them correclty - not best solution however.
-
Chris: See 'idea about attaaching same name file on server' forum message, please reply
- Both Josh and Will have replied. Is a training issue
- Will: Have an issue with their old version and functionality we have in newer versions
- Josh: They have also supplied us with a patch, which is still to be added.
- Will: Ask jmateos how he is importing his files to get different metadat in web vs insight - Done qa:3869
- Brian: check on QA 3861/62. Test with latest dev build and reply - Done
- Brian: Reply to QA 3860. Is this reproducable? - Done
-
Will: Respond to 3858, ask him to restart/try server diag, logs. Create ticket "No Processor Available" - Done see #6249. This may be more of an Error Handling "Try again later" issue than bug.
- Josh: "No processor available" isn't a retryable error; means no processor likes this script
- Will: also a question from Imperial to enable batch projection
- Chris: Don't see why we shouldn't enable it.
- Andrew: add a warning in the tick box.
- Chris: error reported to user in client should say more then just "no processor error"
- Brian: 3844. Respond and ask about image size + suggest update - Done
- Andrew: Order new machine for Scott - Done
- Andrew: respond to ASCB re: next year - Done
- Jason: Future discussion about marketing and outreach - UNKNOWN/TABLED
Any other business (<5 mins)
-
FS (Josh/Colin/Chris)
- Reorganizing some of ticket 909 based on repository feedback
- Chris: over 8 weeks, 4 of us will only overlap for about 5 days, and there's no Tuesday.
- Ok to do a Thursday presentation on the 11th?
-
Web (Will/Carlos/Chris/Ola)
- Ola: Will has merged webscripts
- Josh: So we are adding additional scripting features in 4.3.2? Ola: Yes
- Chris: plan was to improve background functionality via scripts.
-
4.3.0/1 VM
- Simon: put in devteam a week back that there's a VM for 4.3.0 from Donald
- Could add some documentation and make it available. (4.3.1 as well)
- Chris: worth a shot.
- Andrew: need to be clear that this isn't necessarily for your whole institution
- Chris: did we solve the failing nightly builds? No, tomorrow.
-
HIC update (Simon)
- Changed focus from tables to governance/auditing/etc.
- HIC meeting this morning. Now going to move all tickets to main stream for better visibility
- Will be adding to FS and alternative storage features as part of the project now
-
Batch annotation
- Will: work on a dataset?
- Chris: don't know if it's enabled in Insight
- We don't have much feedback yet.
- Chris: won't be able to address any of this before September.
-
Trainings: Ola/Andrew
- We could organize trainings like Norwich
- As opposed to ASCB (just sending a poster)
-
Stories/requirements: Andrew
- What's happening to Donald's tickets?
- FLIM story with a lot of closed tasks. Close to finish?
- Should have JMB/Jason look over what remains
- Chris: We should at least assign these all to someone for cleanup
-
FS (Josh/Colin/Chris)
Action Items
* Jean-Marie: handle FLIM stories, possibly re-assign all Donald tickets.
