Notes

  1. Accepting minutes from last meeting - APPROVED

  2. Matters Arising (<10 mins) (Started 14:00)

    • Will add a few points for CLI testing scenarios #5589 TABLED
      • Suspended til after 4.3
    • Chris add to #3223 - TABLED
      • Suspended till after 4.3
    • Andrew: order a hi-res projector - TABLED
      • Suspended till after 4.3
    • Andrew: Check SFN (Neuroscience) meeting as alternative to ASCB - DONE (discussed with Jason, this year stick with ASCB)
    • Group: go through open tickets in earlier phase - DONE
    • JMB & Donald: Discuss ROI bugs in measurement tool DONE
      • 1 ticket fixed; 1 in progress
  3. Generating sprint # (45 mins) (Started ~ 14:10)

    • Scenarios: give any times to Scott. (Jason is the main one missing)

    • Phase 3: focus on big images, or go through the whole list?

      • Level of the bug is getting lower and lower.
      • Andrew: Inclinded to spend time on big images + insight import
      • Chris: What about web?
        • Ola: Give me a few days will try to get as many done as I can then we can do that
        • Ola: Will prepare a list of what testing can be done on Web
        • Chris: use second system to speed up testing
        • Ola: If bug fixed, we should fix, then send ticket back to next person for testing
          • JMB: Works, but not sure if will do for external 'scientist' testers
          • JMB: OK, so internal tests are going to concentrate on Web (+deletes), insight.importer, and big images
          • Brian: What about windows bugs?
            • Josh: ISS hanging and scripts feedback. Do we need scenarios for this or just 'fix the bugs'?
            • JMB: I am dealing with with one of those bugs from home (needs to be tested from outside the building)
            • Chris: locking issues on Windows
              • Chris can take responsibility for IO stuff if, say, Colin & Andrew can help test
        • Ola: have reporter of open bugs try them again?
      • Which server to use?
        • Gretzky? Almost full. Can wipe it, or use it for delete testing.
        • 3 main users are: Brian, Scott, and Joe User (80% of total)
      • Windows Server:
        • Chris: We should create a batch script to assist in windows upgrading
          • JMB: Would be nice so the servers are up to date every morning
          • Josh: I've moved the execution of ISS - needs maybe a python script
          • Chris: Can produce a python script then.. straightforward
      • Jason: We looks to be making reasonable progress on bugs
        • Suggest we fix more bugs in the next few days (clean up whatever we have left?)
        • Concentrate on blockers, see where we are on Monday?
          • JMB: Sounds reasonable
          • Scott: Whats the plan for other folks while big images focus group is busy?
            • Chris: Ola/JMB can get some helpers with their testing tasks
    • Andrew will review existing QA status (daily) and manage creation of tickets

      • Scott: Please let me know if anything requires a testing scenario
      • JMB: Component owners should handle that

  1. Email and Forum Review - checked at (5 mins) (Started ~ 14:30)

    • Email -
      • [ome-users] lot of files - one image (is the script suitable solution?)
        • Andrew: Is the script in the reply appropriate for the user's case?
          • Will: I asked him if it was and haven't seen a reply since then
      • [ome-users] OME with Oracle? (will I add to FAQ?)
        • Chris: Yes lets add it
    • Forums - Re: OMERO web on XP32 starts but login fails
      • Josh has replied and asked for more information
      • Should be ticketed and added to 'known limitations' perhaps?
      • Chris: Lots of 2003 servers (ie: XP-based) servers out there.. do we need to do more testing here?
        • JMB: Yes should be tested here. Josh: We have a window 2k3 box from hudson we could use.
        • Jason: Is it worth pushing 2K3? Is fairly old now
          • Chris: Probably more 2K3 deploys out there then 2K8 ones. No reason this shouldn't work (or tell folks we don't support)
          • JMB: OK lets give it a shot and see if we can get things working

        • Chris: remove - easy to do

            • Chris: Will do a tuesday demo for this
            • JMB: Would also be nice to have wiki docs as well
    • Josh: copyright (5698)
