Scott: Did Andrew put up the Norwich meeting page to the wiki? -- PENDING
- JMB: Need to talk to Jerome about his screenshots, etc.
-
Jason: What format?
- JMB: Web link or whatever Jerome has, but would be nice to have PDFs for offline viewing
- Jason: Believe Jerome has just printed from the wiki, should just use his pages
- JMB: Agreed, just have to check with Jerome
- Jason: Hard to maintain documentation, wiki is best I think.
- Jason: Would be nice to get that content moved here
- Andrew: Add 'admin only' forum for code subs - UNKNONWN
-
Chris+: Organize discussion about big image optimizations - PENDING
-
Had some discussion with JMB about parallizing tiles, a pain,
-
requires a change to save bytes writer/saver and making them thread safe (75% done)
- Hopefully I/O limited then on imports
-
Also need optimization for low resolution pyramids - lots of iterations over tiles here
- Needs to be pre-calc'd and aggregate tiny tiles
- Also need to discuss a way to get images in directly in importer (with colin & jmb)

Sprint status: (45 mins)
- Chris's update on importing big images is above
- JMB's: Turned off measurement/movie making with big images, will need a fix later
- JMB: Wrapping up with big images
-
Scott: Working on user testing, waiting for code-freeze to start testing with users
- Do we have sufficient time for internal testing before release?
- Jason: Should update nightshade shortly before the 12th
- Chris: Would be ideal to have it a few weeks before release
-
Jason: How badly will this break Michael?
- Chris: Should be ok will need to update jars
- JMB: Some updates/bug fixes to measurement tools
- Jason: Need to get latest build to Michael ASAP
- Schedule: 12th for code freeze, 16th for internal testings
-
Scott: External testing? Jason: Week after internal if things go well
- JMB: How many guys? Scott: Up to 5 or 6 scattered around
- JMB: Should concentrate on web testing latest Firefox, Safari, IE
- Scott: Confirmation to send out t-shirts/magnets to any external testers when necessary.
- Colin: Testing no Ubuntu 8.10? No. Chris: 10.10 only would be my pref
-
Melissa: Are we going through our testing tickets this week? Chris: A bit premature, see on Thursday
- JMB: if we use 512x512 images can probably start testing now
- Chris: Will need to make sure we re-test any images we import now again when we get to release
- Conclusion: Wait for Melissa's testing for next sprint
Forum/Mailing List:
-
Chris: a few things that need to be addressed when Josh is back - things that are missing.
- Extending search bridge documentation - a bit vague now
- General web template documentation - missing some things needed for 'real' development
- No delete documentation on the developers side
- Access to configuration properties remotely (needs to work first!)
-
Need to decide what to do about the OME-XML modelling forum post
-
Lots of examples in their post, not a 5 minute reply. Are we replying before he gets back?
- User needs examples for HCS format (+ 1 metatdata version of that)
- Jason: Lets give them a quick reply with what we have now + proposal we have now
- Chris: Still have no schema in our proposal.
- Let them know we will work on it and get back to them

TIFF+companion initialization file proposal in the forums
- Melissa has no proposal for this currently
- Chris: replied to him already saying to send us the data and we will cogitate on it
-
Chris: We are getting lots of workflow questions which we know internally but not documentated
- We need documentation for all of this
- JMB: Don't see this being planned before release
