Notes

  1. Accepting minutes from last meeting -- ACCEPTED

  2. Matters Arising (<10 mins)

    • Team: Reconcile merges with burndown next TUESDDAY - WORKING ON IT
      • PixelBuffer branch should be merged today
      • Importer and others coming soon
      • Chris to talk to Ola about integrating into web.
    • Jean-Marie: create all sprints til release - PENDING
      • Josh: Just have someone else do it (Chris will)
    • Brian/Scott: finalize the testing scenarios - FRIDAY. Reassign tasks based on what's done now
      • Brian: gone through them and added things that are missing
        • Good deal of new content.
        • Should go over the scenarios when we are actually testing.
      • Chris: other stated intention was that tested scenarios didn't have things covered that were going to change rapidly.
        • Brian: don't know what the complete list; need to have a discussion
        • Chris: that was the point of going over it
        • Scott: put the ones that are solid enough up on ...
        • Scott: Need to do some webclient stuff
        • Ola: did the bugs from Norwich get added to the list?
          • Scott: tried to scan it.
          • Will: if you go through all testing scenario now...
            • then we need to go through them all again days before release
        • Brian: if Scott has a solid short-list, then we should distribute that
          • Will: don't think there's anything that can be ruled out later
        • Josh: How do we set this up? Tickets for the tasks? Spreadsheet?
          • Chris: Don't need spreadsheet, should keep using stories/tasks
      • Andrew: anyone touching the TestingScenarios should not modify numbering
        • Chris: in fact, no one should be touching TestingScenarios without talking to Scott
      • Will: There's a disparity in how much is in each test
        • Split up by browser type
        • Some are also very large (lots of groups, etc.)
      • Andrew: a ticket per file format?
        • Could become insane
        • Chris: we could just do "Bob's formats" if we split them up evenly
    • Melissa: define new formats need to be tested (DONE)
    • Brian: prepare test_images_good with Melissa's list (DONE by Melissa)
    • Jason: Try to delete group member data from 4.2.2 insight - DONE
      • OR Chris: reset passwords for Elena and Emma
    • Josh: Delete data for Zuojun (id=2914) - DONE
  3. User Meeting discussions (45 mins)

    1. OMERO in Action Feedback
    2. Notes
      • JIC: very interested in ontologies and tagging, including forced tagging on import
        • test center that we can build a relationship with
      • public access to data
        • one site already had a sharing system
        • we will need to be in touch with them if they want to use OMERO
      • scripting
        • Chris: to do many things (batching, etc) you're almost forced to the command-line
        • Will: would be easy to provide "edit script" from the web
        • But once the script is beyond a few lines of code
      • data duplication
        • Ola: people were asking about importing from the web
        • compressing files that aren't being used.
      • Auto Update:
        • Chris: Don't think we can avoid this in the future, will have to tackle next version
        • Ola: Talking Client updates here, no server.
      • Documentation:
        • Where is CPP Docs? Chris: Just examples right now
        • Jerome's Documentation:
          • Chris: Would be good to have this as the 'omero course' on the front page of the website
          • But has to be maintained. Very time consuming.
      • Page similar to success stories about what people are working on!
        • People were also offering scripts
        • Andrew: Links off success stories? It's (often) more technical than that.
        • Andrew: Attach files to the forum? Could we have a forum section for this?
        • Chris: Good example at phpbb's forums for this in 'plugins' section
        • Andrew: can we add moderation of a particular topic? Don't know.
      • Miax
        • Standing buffet: short discussion...
        • Some people asked about running a similar event
  4. OME User Meeting - Paris program planing (15:32)

    • Andrew: Need to know who's going to Paris, need to Book hotels
      • Brian: Passport is with the government, likely can't go
      • Andrew: Will book next week after JMB returns
      • Chris: Some talk of making this a 3 day trip (around for an extra day informally)
      • Andrew: Problem with last years layout: a bit cluttered first day
        • Second day issues with power/wifi
      • Andrew: Maybe posing questions to people to cover in their talks might be nice
      • Chris: Have to wait for Jason to see who is talking
      • Chris: Big question is do we have more/fewer talks? Was it good last year?
      • Chris: What training do we want to cover (some of Jerome's stuff?)
      • Chris: Perhaps just have discussion time in the afternoon of second day
      • Chris: Perhaps more of our own persentations on the first day
  5. Any other business (<5 mins)

    • Curtis: OMERO DropBox questions:
      1. Ticket #4749: http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/4749
