2011-02-24 Thursday Meeting

Agenda

Remember: Agenda must be complete (with estimated times) on the day before the meeting. Any additions after that must go at the bottom (AOCB)

  1. Accepting minutes from last meeting

  2. Matters Arising (<10 mins)

    • Jean-Marie: look at milestone page
    • Donald: commit jpeg2000 branch today (Tuesday)
    • Ola: create ticket for QA 3201
    • Everyone: Think about going to Crief, need a presenter (Friday 25th to Monday 27th)
      • Someone could just go for the presentation (a few hours not the whole day)
    • Need to split CLI/GUI/DROPBOX importer application
    • Need to unify when upgrade ccheck happens
    • Brian: Create page about what anonymous data is being collected (for future setup of 'opt in' dialog)
    • Andrew: Will update stat collection ticket with questions to ask
    • Add tickets for checking to cellprofiler, etc.

  3. Generating sprint # (45 mins)

    • What New Tasks were added to old sprint
    • What Tasks are left in old sprint
    • Make new sprint
    • Estimates
    • Close old sprint and move other tasks into new sprint

  3. Generating sprint # (45 mins)

    • Josh ticket report
      • Lots of tickets that are still 'not done'
      • need to not jam things into this sprint when should be in next sprint
      • Might just be lots going on
      • Could have a nag mail about tickets that are old, in progress
      • Need to be responsible for making sure your tickets
      • Andrew: I find the weekly email very handy
        • Will: If we can set up a more personalized version of the email, that would be good
        • Josh: Can do that, only a few hours work
        • Will: Goal seems to be how to point out our backlog, email should make that clear
    • Jean-Marie: Would be nice to have a mini-video of work - found this very handy for external folks to see new features
      • Jason: Even a screenshot (bandwidth) would be VERY helpful
      • Josh: Need to make sure the videos are 'polished' enough for outside viewing
      • Jean-Marie: Treat them like a Tuesday presentation
    • What New Tasks were added to old sprint

      • Jean-Marie will close the sprint after the meeting
      • Folks need to check to see if their tickets are moved to sprint 8 or stay in sprint 7

      • traslate OMERO to spanish - WILL REPLY IN OTHER THREAD
      • Traslation to Spanish * Andrew: I need some help answering this one! All the translation I have done is Web or Windows. * Andrew: How do we do this in Java? * Josh: Do we trust this person to find all strings and moving them to a property file * Will: Its not an easy task, (for example 14000 strings in insight) * Josh: Standard way is to do this is in eclipse * Jason: This is a full fledged project that should have its own funding * Technically possible, if serious, can work with them to get funding, project goals, etc. * Jason will respond to them accordingly

    • Use of nitpick v. omero-team (Josh)
      • Josh: omero-team is very easy to type, but looses log, but we should try to use Nitpick!
      • Andrew: omero-team should only raelly be used by machine - all agree
    • Bugs from Colin
      • One bug in dropbox. Versions in pi-inotify hard to track
        • Josh: In general, a smart idea to track these versions
        • Colin: Need to see how version performs against python 2.4
    • Jason
      • Tomorrow we have assessment of the '4' goals from calendar
      • Jean-Marie: Screenshots/Video would be good for assessment, a lot in testing now
      • Jason: For tomorrow morning have single email with tickets/screenshots for informal review
      • Andrew: Time for review tomorrow? JMB: No specific time. Jason: Lets have them up by lunch time
    • Josh: Meeting tomorrow on API? Time?
      • JMB: Wait for Chris on Monday? Sure @ 2

      • Would be nice to review and give them some constructive feedback
      • Melissa: Already sent them some bugs, which they responded too
