2011-02-03 Thursday Meeting

Notes

  1. Pre-meeting

    • ImageJ discussion
      • Use OME-TIFF
      • Round trip to send image back.

  2. Accepting minutes from last meeting

    • Accepted
    • Meetings at 2:30 UK on Tuesdays

  3. Matters Arising (<10 mins)

    • Jean-Marie & Scott: put together guidelines for the team (see above)
      • Pending when Scott is back.
    • Andrew: move big ticket review to the next Thursday - Pending
    • Andrew: push "pending" tasks - Still have left - In Progress
    • Everyone: Give feedback to Chris about omero/downloads page
      • JMB: Need to note when we change the page over so no one is suprised
      • Chris: And add the tags on
        • Andrew: Are we not using already or do you mean complete list of tags
        • Chris: No tages right now, so adding them in general
      • JMB: Do we want to mention what subversion will do?
        • Josh: Have ticket for this, but need feedback
        • Chris: Its a lot of work to have svn checkout
        • Josh: Curtis' group has a good example in their email, may want to look at that
        • Chris: Update download page for review
    • Everyone: Look over bugs! Lots of old ones tha need to be fixed/remove/cleaned up
      • 10 Bugs left, going well
      • See below.
    • Anything over 2 weeks should be handled.
      • Ola: has a few that are pending, need fixing, but not at this time
      • Terms for tickets?: Bug, Limitation, Waiting for Feedback, Patch
    • Everyone: opinions on blog for Thursday. Decision will be made.
      • Everyone against, except Jason
      • Chris: we've been emailing, which works ok
      • Chris: what's the alternative?
      • Andrew: we could put emails in as history
      • Ola: keep URL, redirect to our website

  4. Sprint Update (20 mins)

    • Bugs: largely cleaned up
      • If there's a bug that you've largely fixed, but one case is open
        • Create a new ticket with "LIMITATION"
      • Need to look at some not in 4.3 (i.e. unscheduled)
      • ~70 tickets
      • Chris: Shoot to clean up those older than by next week?
    • Try to get your remaining times on tickets in
      • Jason: not an auditing of what you're doing
      • Are we properly planning what we will do and then do we do that
      • This will come up again; need to solidify plans for next several months
      • JMB: If we don't know where we are can't freeze at the right time
        • Question we want to ask: when will feature X be finished!
      • Josh: Tickets are getting smaller, more refined. Hopefully better with time.
    • Jason: pending alarm bells?
      • Chris: Big images coming along nicely
        • JMB: Working on Server
        • Ola, Will, Chris: Working on Viewer
        • Will: Working on ROIs
    • JMB: Would be nice if we kept a knowledge base through stories
      • For example: the recent importing vidoes 'story'
      • Knowledge should not be kept in someone's head, but in story form
      • Another example: finding a good library should be recorded somewhere

  5. Paris Mtg Date-- June 15/16?

    • Heard back from Spencer
    • Spencer suggests same setup as last year
    • Only have limited dates (as indicated in Agenda from Spencer 15th-16th)
    • Seems like we would arrive on the back of 4.3.x with lots of testing
    • Jerome's meet is in April as well - something to keep in mind
    • Andrew: We need more table space in Paris (nice to get)
    • Chris: Would be nice to go to Paris on the back of a release
      • Would be nice to get feedback on these new features
      • We should concentrate on the 1-3 things we are showing at Paris
    • Jason: Lets hold the paris dates and plan out the next few sprints
      • Then can see where we will be at
