Notes

  • Review of the last bi-weekly meeting's action items went well. Most items were completed. Incomplete items have been moved to this week's Action Items.
  • Ilya is currently working on improving the installation process for OME by making the dependencies more readily accessible and making sure that OME remains OS independent. One concern is that some dependency compilation is almost certainly needed, but Ilya is looking at providing links to as many pre-compiled binaries as possible.
  • IO infrastructure and Rendering services are all running and synchronized. There are a few things that still need to be fixed, which should happen next week. The compression library work will probably be moved forward to the next cycle.
  • Jean-Marie has made good progress with Shoola this week. He should be able to link the rendering service next week.
  • Sheldon is leaving (as of today); and so the plan for the Shoola RCP migration is somewhat tentative.
  • The bio-formats / importer development process is coming along nicely. We will need to change how the interface works and are coordinating with Curtis to make the bio-formats setup working with additional data-types. The goal is to have about 20 odd data-types converted in bio-formats by the end of next week.
  • ROI needs a further review and a ROI-specific meeting will be scheduled within the next week.
  • The initial user interviews are just starting this last week so there isn't much to report right now.
  • August meeting will not include Jason.
  • Roi: "Seems that we've just cleaned up (concretized -j.a.m) Features a bit" so it should be doable to have the new model work with the old style Features.

Action Items

  • Chris: Have a meeting with Jason about the security model to discuss the few remaining caveats that could cause issues (applying permission changes to hierarchies, etc.), and outline what permissions (READ/WRITE/ATTACH) we want to support.
  • Josh: Test the RenderingBean for use in Shoola next week.
  • Josh, JM, Chris: talk Friday or early next week about UML.
  • Josh, Ilya, Josiah: talk Friday or early next week to finalize Rois.
  • Josh look at Curtis' CSV at http://skyking.microscopy.wisc.edu/curtis/lineage/
